Robert,

In TradeMaster select Options, Database Location and TM will show you the path to the database.

When you do an upgrade or full installation a backup of your current program and database are made. The backups can be found by opening SPA TradeMaster and then clicking 'Options' --> 'Database Location'. Once the new window appears open the folder called 'Backup'. You should now see your previous database file 'TradeMaster.mdb 01092008'.

To revert to this database close SPA TradeMaster, rename 'TradeMaster.mdb 01092008' to 'TradeMaster.mdb' and then copy this file into your 'SPA TradeMaster' folder (click Back button) overwriting the existing file. Re-open SPA TradeMaster and your existing portfolio information should be available.  thumb

Hi Mark
Thank you that worked perfectly.  Thank goodness for automatic backups !!

I do have another question - I wanted to create a duplicate of one of my portfolios and apply some different rules on "stop losses" and TTM to test a few things but trademaster doesn;t seem to let me create a new name.
eg.
1. Portfolio tools - export the data ...eg Super fund
2. create new portfolio - called Super Fund tests
3. then try to import the data and it says the Super fund file is in use do you want to override the data !

Do I need to rename the exported file ?
or other
thanks again

SPA TradeMaster can not create a duplicate portfolio but if you are only wanting to modify the portfolio profile this can be done by following the steps below.

  • Click File --> Portfolio Tools and select your portfolio. eg.Super Fund
  • Click 'Save Settings'
  • Click File --> New Portfolio then click the 'Load Profile' button and select the 'Super Fund.ini' file.
  • The new portfolio will now contain all the same settings as your Super Fund portfolio which you can modify

Which part needs updating?

Hi Mark

There was an issue with TM recently where the comments for saved buy transactions (prospects) were being 'lost' when the saved transaction was re-opened to edit and commit, however you were able to fix this really quick (thanks).

I just noticed yesterday the same thing seems to be happening now with saved pyramids.  Its likely the same issue, but not noticed until market returned to low risk and we started pyramiding again.  Could you look into it pls?

Also, I noticed that on the saved prospects - pyramids tab that the dates appear wierd (date, date opened columns appear to be incorrect and/or switched so that 'date opened' says 1/9/08 for all pyramids and 'date' shows what i think is the date the trade was first opened, or some other date)  It still works, but is wierd....

Thanks a lot

John

Both items have been replicated and added to our bug list which will be fixed for the next update.

Many thanks Mark,

Really appreciate the re-appearance of the 'Analysis Filters' under Closed Trades. Good one.

Hi Mark,

After installing the new version I'm getting this message when I go to Porfolio - Open Trades - current. It comes up with the message then shuts down.
